Bright Green is a catalyst for positive change.

Our mission starts at home, both in London and San Francisco, where our team consists of passionate professionals, helping those around us discover the benefits of environmental practices, and reducing our own organizational footprint to realize a more efficient business. We work hard to improve the earth and community we inherited.

Our Team

Our Chairman, Paul Hannam, founded a successful technology recruitment and training business, as well as teaching environmental business at Oxford University. In addition he has also written two books and works as an executive coach. He lives with his family in California.

Managing Director Tom Savage runs Bright Green in Europe and has significant experience as a social entrepreneur and campaigner for responsible business, starting two social businesses and winning the Edge Upstarts Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007.

As a Managing Partner at Bright Green Talent, Nick Ellis combines his passions for the environment, social enterprise, and people into a daily commitment to green the US workforce. Nick holds degrees from both Stanford University (BA) and the London School of Economics (MSc). Before joining Bright Green as the founder of the San Francisco branch, Nick worked as an investment banker pioneering the use of clean renewable energy bonds to finance municipal renewable power projects. Since birth, Nick's been a lover of the ocean, which, true to his Pisces sign, he constantly reconnects with through body surfing (when in SoCal) and open water swims (when in NorCal). While at Stanford, Nick captained the men's water polo team to two consecutive NCAA championships en route to receiving the "Block S" award as one of the university's most outstanding male athletes.

Eva Bellamy is Bright Green's sustainability expert and comes from a background in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility consultancy. She has experience in sustainable business strategy development, organisational change management, benchmarking, stakeholder engagement (including supply chain management), assurance, sustainability reporting, report writing. She has worked with a broad range of clients from large multi-nationals, the Sustainable Development Commission and most recently the Prince's Office and Arup.

Chief Everything Officer Sarah Lloyd-Hughes brings a training and development edge to the team. Graduating with first class honours from UMIST, Sarah's pathway to Bright Green  led her via global youth leadership organisation AIESEC UK; an HR & CSR executive in India’s largest IT Organisation and a ‘bohemian’ period as a corporate trainer in Paris. As the job title suggests, Sarah handles a variety of tasks at Bright Green, from intern management, to marketing, to client assignments.

Melanie vonHartitzsch, Director of Parternships, comes to Bright Green with deep sales and business development experience, and she's peddled everything from fruit to software in the San Francisco area. Mel is a stellar athelete, and she has a passion for all things Berkeley, where she was a water polo player and then a coach while she earned her Master's in Education. Although she hails orignially from the midwest, Melanie set down roots in the Bay Area long ago, and there's no doubt that she's a California girl through and through--Mel spends her copious free time cycling, practicing yoga and swimming in the Bay. Much like the great state of Oklahoma, Mel is OK!

Director of Talent, Erica Gerard comes to Bright Green's San Francisco office drawing on her experience as a Learning and Development Specialist for Deloitte and Touche USA, LLP.  She holds a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is a Myers Briggs qualified trainer.  Erica has been acting since she was 12 years old, and enjoys singing and dancing on the stage and all around the office, much to the chagrin of her co-workers. Erica's passion for the environment stems from growing up in the dry, Arizona desert and living through increasingly hot summers with decreasing amounts of rainfall during the dwindling monsoon seasons.  In addition to issues surrounding climate change, Erica hopes to increase awareness of indoor air pollution caused by toxic chemicals in cleaning products, carpets, and other everyday household items.  Erica...not short for America, but just as shiny.

Christina Gilyutin, Director of Development, brings to Bright Green's San Francisco operation a broad spectrum of work experience including litigation consulting, corporate HR and nonprofit management. Christina has spent time living in all corners of the country: after growing up in New York, she attended Stanford University, spent some time living in Jackson Hole, WY and then headed over to the University of Michigan's Erb Institute of Global Sustainable Enterprise where she earned a joint MBA/MA in Natural Resources and Environment.
While at Stanford, Christina was the captain of the varsity lacrosse team and continues to play with the San Francisco club team.  When not wielding a lacrosse stick, she is out biking, snowboarding, doing yoga and laughing at jokes that most people think aren't that funny.

Carolyn Mansfield joins Bright Green as our Community Engagement Associate. Originally from Boston, Carolyn ventured out west to attend Stanford University, where she studied Anthropology and all things environmental. She draws on media and outreach experience with the Sierra Club and from sustainable development work in Latin America, which have led her to a passion for the green business realm. When she's not spreading the Bright, Green word, Carolyn enjoys backpacking, yoga, playing the cello, and compulsive recycling.

Andrija Vasiljevic joins Bright Green Talent as a Development Strategist from Belgrade, Serbia, where he lived for 19 years and played water polo for the (former) Yugoslavian Youth National Team and Partizan, one of the world's most renowned clubs. Capitalizing on his water polo prowess, he accepted a scholarship to UC Berkeley in 2003 and has since lived in the US. Andrija's passion for the environment began in his early college years at Berkeley, where he developed a deep interest in the Kyoto Treaty and the obstacles its encountered over the years. Over his four years at CAL, he completed research on the Protocol, and in the process, developed a deep knowledge of carbon trading--his niche at Bright Green. Andrija brings a phenomenal attitude, can-do, no-nonsense sensibility, and a growing environmental passion to our San Francisco team.

UK Director Symone Salwan has a wealth of experience in recruitment, training and management consultancy. She has led several SMEs and start-ups and holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and a first degree from City University. Symone has given up city living for greener surroundings in the 'Garden of England' where she enjoys yoga and cooking veggie food (photos on its way).
