Junior Client Manager at Global Carbon Finance Firm (New York, Immediate)--ID# 10271
Background:
This highly entrepreneurial position will be responsible for sourcing a portfolio of emissions reduction projects generated from diverse sectors in the United States and Canada (e.g., landfill, biomass, cement, renewable energy sector, etc.). Project leads will be developed and advanced through intermediaries or the client manager.
This position will be highly entrepreneurial and independent, requiring large amounts of discipline and ability to work with little supervision. The ideal candidate will assist in developing sector business development strategies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop a plan to aggressively indentify and contract high quality emission reduction projects within the United States and Canada.
Work with firms' teams to identify new business opportunities for various sectors in a fast pace carbon market.
Understand client’s organizational structure and develop relationships with key decision makers.
Plan, prepare and execute high impact meetings with prospects and clients.
Manage key clients through day-to-day contact and ensure that clients always receive superior customer service.
Skills & Qualifications:
• 1 to 2 years business development experience, ideally within one of the following sectors: energy, oil and gas, biogas, agriculture, energy efficiency, cement, municipal solid waste, and/or other greenhouse gas emissions reduction sectors.
• Working knowledge of climate change, especially carbon markets and emissions reduction projects.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of time.
• Ability to assume initiative, work independently and drive new business.
• Comfort in negotiation is vital.
• Ability to learn complicated industrial processes in various emissions reduction sectors.
• Ability to work in the United States of America.
• Ability to be concise, clear, and forge relationships at all levels within client organizations.
• Comfortable speaking in front of large audiences.
• Should be interested in the policy context surrounding climate change and prepared to communicate policy developments to clients and intermediaries.
• Candidate will be expected to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
• Ability to adapt and react quickly to a rapidly evolving market.
