CFO at High-Growth Renewable Energy Firm (San Diego, Immediate Start) --ID#10288
Background:
Privately-funded San Diego based renewable energy company delivering clean, reliable, and sustainable thermal energy that enables their clients to lower energy costs, reduce GHG emissions, and deliver locally produced fuel that is truly carbon neutral.
Position Overview:
The CFO is a growth-stage person with recognized financial expertise and a strong record of financial performance at other companies. As a financial leader, this person will have an outward focus and be responsible for developing a network of investors and communicating "community energy" infrastructure.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Seek out and develop strategic investor relationships as well as assess near-term lender options
• Assist engineering in the most effective vendor relationships for supply of key equipment for our infrastructure development
• Evaluate and provide direction to sales on the nature of specialized contracts for heat-energy supply (such as to US Government agencies, state agencies, GSA schedules, etc)
• Create urgency to drive business case
• Reduce risk to investment community and give them a strong case for investment
Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong financial modeling capability.
• Ability to find creative ways to demonstrate graphically the ‘what-if’ analyses critical to dynamic energy-cost issues.
• Sharp thinker who can quickly identify and propose multiple solutions to prospective problems
• A strong track record in leadership and demonstrated ability to communicate with lenders, investors and boards of directors.
• Have the ability to tell the story, as well as showing the numbers
• Excellent communication skills
• 4-year undergraduate degree plus graduate degree
• CPA and strong demonstrated GAAP-practice skill sets
• Leadership in community organizations
• Leadership in various professional organizations a plus
• Interest and commitment to green, renewable energy
Compensation:
Competitive salary plus bonus and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Generous stock options with potential for some stock ownership in 24 months.
